RFCC, Inc’s. Board of Directors approves 2010 operating budget March 21, 2010
The Richards and Coleman Family Foundation, Inc’s. Board of Directors has approved the Foundation’s 2010 operating budget by a vote of 4 for, 0 against. In the interest of full disclosure, the foundation members will decide if the budget will be published on this website at their next general meeting.
The budget is to be funded with a 20% allotment from the Richards and Coleman Family Association’s Trust Fund account, corporate sponsorships, individual contributions and fundraising activities organized by the Foundation’s administrative officers. A schedule of the fundraising activities will be posted on this website as soon as they are finalized.
The Budget includes funding for the William D. Coleman High School and the Christian A. Richards Elementary School. Funds are allotted to provide for four $500.00 and six $250.00 individual Scholarships in the United States of America and the Republic of Liberia beginning the 2010 fall semester under the James D. Cassell Jr. Scholarship Fund.
All applicants must meet the requirements established by the officers of the foundation. The selected applicants will be announced on this website on July 9, 2010. All application forms and relevant applicant information can be printed from this website. All applications must be received no later then June 15, 2010 at P. O. Box 82 Lisbon, Maryland 21765.
The winning scholarships recipients will be selected by a three member committee to be established by the foundation. The committee will inform the President of their selection in writing. No committee member will be qualified to vote for an immediate family member as the winning applicant. No more then one officer of the Richards and Coleman Family Foundation/Association will be on the committee. Scholarships are open to the general public.
The board of directors approved a collaboration with Youth Action International (YAI) for the implementation of the phase 1 assessment report submitted by YAI for the William D. Coleman High School and the Christian A. Richards Elementary School in Clay Ashland, Liberia. The assessment is link to this website.
The implementation of phase 1 has begun due to the urgent needs of the two schools and their students. Information on the progress of these projects will be posted on this website regularly, so that you can see the difference your contributions are making in changing live of these students. Your support is needed.

RCFF, Inc.’s James D. Cassell Jr 2010 Scholarship Committee appointed. May 18, 2010
The President of the Richards and Coleman Family Foundation, Inc., John Cassell has appointed the three member scholarship recipients selection committee. The members of the committee are Rhonda R. Von Ballmoos, former Secretary of the Richards and Coleman Family Associations, Inc., Nyama Waritay, Vice President of Finance at Reach Communications Specialist, Inc. and Handel K. C. Diggs, National President of the B W Harris Alumni Association U S A.
The committee is responsible to insure that all criteria for the scholarships are met and select the recipients of ten scholarships. The Richards and Coleman Family Foundation, Inc’s 2010 James D. Cassell Jr Scholarship will award four $500.00 scholarships in the United States and six $250.00 scholarships in Liberia.
All completed applications and other required documents must be post-marked by June 15, 2010 and mailed to the Foundation at P O Box 82, Lisbon, Maryland 21765. The committee will submit their selections to the Foundation’s officers on or before June 8, 2010.
