RCFF Lunch Fundaiser

The Richards & Coleman Family Foundation, Inc. has lunch a funraiser in support its 2012 scholarship program. The foundation produce it first commemorative 2012 Calendar. The Richards & Coleman Family Foundation's 2012 calendars are now available for sale at $10.00 each through our online payment services. To make a purchase, just go to the Foundation's website at www.rcff1.org and click on the Online Payments link at the lower left of the page. You would then be directed to our PayPal payment account, where you are given options to make payment with either a PayPal or a Credit Card Account.
From the Sales & Annual Fees dropdown box, select the item you want to pay on, complete the payment information required, and checkout. The Calendar(s) purchased will be mailed to you promptly. For those wanting to pay for pictures and birthdates placed in the Calendar, or to make a donation to the Foundation, select the Donate button on the Sales & Annual Fees page, and you would then be allowed to enter the amount you want to pay. William D. Coleman high school to get new roof

The Richards & Coleman Family Foundation, Inc. through it's Educational fund, and with the collaboration of Dr. Kimmie Week of Youth Action International (YAI), is schedule to begin the the replacement of the William D. high school roof In Clay Ashland, Liberia at a cost of $2,150.00. The Foundation has made the funds available for the implementation of the project and is currently awaiting information from (YAI) on the start date. Replacement of the roof is part of the final phase of a 3 phase plan developed in 2010 to bring the school up to basic standards.
The final Phase of the project also inculdes electrification of the school by providing a generator or by other availabe means. The condition at the school has improved with the collaboration of RCFF, YAI and a United Nations impact program. Phases 1 & 2 involed providing students and teachers supplies, installation of missing door, windows and the painting of the building RCFF will continue to support the school after it meet it's basic needs. there are 350 students enrolled at the school. Richards & Coleman Family Association Desolved

The members of the Richards & Coleman Family Association, Inc. (RCFA), voted at their 2011 family reunion held July 15, through July 17 in Newark, Delaware to desolve the association. All members of the (RCFA) are eligible to become member of the Richards & Coleman Family Foundation, Inc.(RCFF) a 501(c)3 nonprofit orginazation. The Foundation will begin to host it's Annual General Membership meeting in Manassas, Virgini in July 2012.
The only requirements for becoming a member is that you are a Richards or Coleman family member and you pay your annual membership fees.The Foundation Members elected new Administrative officers to serve through 2013. The newly elected officers are President Varney Coleman, Vice President Alan Cassell, Secretary Rhonda Von Ballmoos and Treasurer Florence Thomas. The membership decided that election of the Board of Directors will be conducted at their frist general meeting in 2012. Additional information on the 2012 meeting will be posted on this site soon.
No Applicant Met Deadline for Scholarship

There were no applicants that met the deadline for the first annual James D. Cassell Jr. Scholarship. The Richards & Coleman Family Foundation, Inc. has established a need base requirement to qualify under the James D. Cassell Jr. Memorial Scholarship, previously the scholarship was based on merit and needs. The new rule will allow for students with a GPA of 2.0 to qualify for the award. The successful applicant will have to show a need and must improve their GPA to qualify the second year.
During the first announced application period there where a limited number of applications and no qualifying applicant based on the merit and need requirements established for the scholarship. Since the deadline for the first submission of applications several applications have been received and are been reviewed. The new need base requirement was discussed in New Orleans at our general membership meeting they will be posted to this website in the coming days.
James D. Cassell Jr. 2010 Scholarship Committee appointed

The President of the Richards and Coleman Family Foundation, Inc., John Cassell has appointed the three member scholarship recipients selection committee. The members of the committee are Rhonda R. Von Ballmoos, former Secretary of the Richards and Coleman Family Associations, Inc., Nyama Waritay, Vice President of Finance at Reach Communications Specialist, Inc. and Handel K. C. Diggs, National President of the B W Harris Alumni Association U S A.
The committee is responsible to insure that all criteria for the scholarships are met and select the recipients of ten scholarships. The Richards and Coleman Family Foundation, Inc’s 2010 James D. Cassell Jr Scholarship will award four $500.00 scholarships in the United States and six $250.00 scholarships in Liberia.
All completed applications and other required documents must be post-marked by June 15, 2010 and mailed to the Foundation at P O Box 82, Lisbon, Maryland 21765. The committee will submit their selections to the Foundation’s officers on or before June 8, 2010.
